Our friends, Christine and Andy invited us to take a quick trip with them to Emerald Downs near Auburn, Washington. It was a beautiful spring day and Christine had the top down on her convertible. The track was pretty packed, there was nine local races, and all the simulcast ones. We got the quintessential stadium food—hot dogs, then found our seats for the next race. It was so picturesque with Mt. Rainer just off in the distance. Kim got the run down on betting from Andy and then placed her bet for the next race. Winner! She won $9! Big payout, I know.
For the last few races we went down trackside so I can get some cool high-speed shots at the finish line. Then we went over to see the horses brought out for the final race. It was really cool to see the horses paraded around and the handlers get them ready for the race.
It was a great afternoon with friends and amazing weather. Check out all the pictures on Flickr.
