Finding enough space to photograph cocktails in a small 1920s condo can be a challenge. We ideally want smooth natural light flowing in. Enough space to use large bounce or diffusion panels (like this one from Wescott). Room for surfaces and tabletops to shoot on. Plus we like to shoot tethered, meaning our camera is connected to a computer so we can see a large image to review, check for focus and color. All that plus a tripod and room for us to move around.
We often push our couch and coffee table against the back wall that doesn’t have a window. This opens up a decent size corner for us that has lots of light pouring in.
Winter gets tricker with short days and vert little light in the PNW. I rely on light from a Nikon Speedlite SB-700 shot through diffusion panels. Below was our setup in January for the “Tiki the Snow Away” challenge on Instagram -Bobby
