We’ve been living in Seattle for 3 weeks now. The weather has been nothing but beautiful, but the first day of Fall brought the cold and the rain. It’s been between 50-60 degrees everyday. Some days have been rainy but others have been a monsoon—well for Seattle—but a normal rainy day for San Antonio (when we get it). We’ve broken out the boots, sweaters and light jackets, which seems so foreign being that it is still September!
Our car is officially a Seattleite as we got our Washington plates this week! A couple days later we had a dead battery—so our Subie might be homesick or Bobby could have left the dome light on. Either way, thanks for AAA, Memaw!
This week Paisley turned 10! I can’t believe she’s 10! It feels like just yesterday that we drove to Houston to pick her up.
On Saturday, we visited Storyville Coffee, a new coffee shop near Pike Place Market, opening October 1. We got a pre-opening invite to check them out. After coffee we headed down the street to the Seattle Aquarium. We both LOVE aquariums and have been saving this for a super rainy day. We had a super fun time!
Some new friends invited us to their super swank apartment overlooking the sound to have a drink and get out of the rain. Next thing we knew, we were crashing Norm’s 50th birthday party and getting home at all hours of the night. It was a totally spontaneous night!
I scored suite tickets to the Seattle Sounders soccer game on Sunday. It was our very first soccer game and it was super fun. The fans are crazy awesome. The entire crowd was a sea of rave green and blue. I compare it to Spurs-mania (except the fans are die hard every game, not just during a championship). I’m sad that Clint Dempsey (from Nagcodoches, TX and the captain of the US World Cup Team) couldn’t play, but hopefully I’ll get to see him next time.
