My lovely friend, Ashley, decided we should go to the first annual SparkleFest, from the folks at Bar Ferd’nand and The Old Chaser Farm on Vashon Island. “It’s called SparkleFest and it’s on your birthday, so it’s like they created this event just for you!” I couldn’t disagree. That was obviously the case. They are throwing me a party, so of course I have to go.
We sampled delicious food—like wood-fired pizzas and whole roasted lamb—made in the open kitchen of the farm house. Ashley and I needed even more sparkle, so we headed for the face-painting tepee, and adorned each other with a little glitter on our cheeks (you know, when in Rome Vashon).
It was the perfect way to spend my birthday and celebrate the end of summer!
