“Tiki the Snow Away” was a cocktail bloggers’ challenge on Instagram in January. It presented Kim and I with a new creative problem—photographing flaming tiki drinks! Not the mention the fun styling and unique glassware that we would be using for the flamboyant drinks.
For the tiki series we decided on a darker palette, using a deep blue curtain (that would skew black in the photos) and a dark, slightly reflective baking sheet as our surface.
We were using an external Nikon Speedlight SB-700 fired with Pocket Wizards through a diffusion panel. The Nikon D850 was tethered to our iMac using Tether Tools’s TetherPro cables. We were using a combination of Capture One and Lightroom Classic CC to review and edit.
