A Quick Wrap Up of the Past Month

It’s been almost a month since our last post. Sorry. We got a little busy for a while. Work is picking up for both of us, we’ve been trying new restaurants (there’s so many!), finding new grocery stores (nothing we like as much as H-E-B Central Market), visiting new parks and hanging out with friends. This week’s recap

I went to Minneapolis for 3 days of training. it wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be even thought it was forecasted to snow. This is the temperature displayed at the airport once I got to Minneapolis. Notice Tuesday’s snow flakes! I was pretty disappointed it never snowed. While I was there, I […] Read more…

6-weeks

We are now six weeks into the Seattleite life. The weather has gotten a little cooler and the leaves are turning into gorgeous yellows, oranges and reds. We are breaking out the sweaters and jackets. We are really enjoying having a fall season.   Friday we went to a fun foodie event at the Pike […] Read more…

It’s Fall

We visited a pumpkin patch with our friends Christine and Andy this weekend and ended up coming home with a wheelbarrow full of gourds (for only $33!).   Christine and Andy hosted a pumpkin carving party. This is Angela’s modern carving interpretation. These are all our pumpkins with Bentley dressed as a caterpillar for scale.  Read more…

1 Month Down

We’ve been living in Seattle for a month now. We’ve been out and about seeing as much as we can, soaking up the city (which is why we’re just getting around to hanging photos). We are loving it up here, but we really miss everyone back home. Since we’re rounding out a month in our […] Read more…

Week 3

We’ve been living in Seattle for 3 weeks now. The weather has been nothing but beautiful, but the first day of Fall brought the cold and the rain. It’s been between 50-60 degrees everyday. Some days have been rainy but others have been a monsoon—well for Seattle—but a normal rainy day for San Antonio (when […] Read more…

A few alterations

Excited to have found my great-grandma’s scissors, pinking shears & sewing gauge! Now that I have her tools, I feel like I might be able to properly hem Bobby’s pants. Read more…

2 weeks in the Emerald City

As I walked home from work today, I thought about all the things in Seattle that stand out to me so far: I have not been bitten by a single mosquito—or even seen one for that matter Amazing craft coffee is everywhere (I am not talking about Starbucks in case anyone is wondering) I got […] Read more…

Sweetness in Seattle

Ben and Jerry’s partnered with Seattle’s Theo Chocolates for a pop up event which included a special ice cream flavor just for the occasion. “Sweetness in Seattle” flavor won’t be sold in stores, but we were able to snag a scoop at the event (to promote bill 522 which would make it mandatory that all […] Read more…

On the Water & On the Grass

Saturday started on the water with the Seattle Boats Afloat show in the South Lake Union marina. We got to board huge yachts pushing 6 million dollars, beautiful wooden sailboats and my personal favorite – Ranger Tug R-21EC. From the Marina we picked up Paisley and headed up to Capitol Hill for a park party with […] Read more…

Salmon & Locks

Sunday morning we checked out Union church just down the street. It is interesting and a little overwhelming to start searching for a new church community. This church is in an event space and coffee/chocolate shop. We have defiantly have been spoiled at the Park with amazing worship and Scott’s teaching. Later that afternoon we headed out […] Read more…
